Gangrape accused wants milk and fruits

NEW DELHI:
Among the key accused in the gruesome Delhi gang rape on Monday sought permission from the Delhi Court to get a ‘ proper diet’ because he is preparing for a recruitment examination within the Indian Air Force.

Vinay Sharma filed a credit card applicatoin before a fast track court to supply him with a healthy diet comprising milk and fruits.

The council also asked a legal court to provide newspapers to the accused because he is preparing for the Air Force Category C entrance test for recruitment of clerks. “He is get yourself ready for the IAF entrance test that is on April 7. Lucrative also has two tutors who're coaching him in jail.

Following the entrance test, he will also need to take his BA exams. He requires a good diet so that he can study well,” Vinay’s lawyer A. P. Singh said.

A legal court has directed the Tihar jail authorities to provide their comments on the plea by Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the proceedings on Monday got delayed by Forty-five minutes as the counsel for accused Pawan Gupta and Vinay came late.

Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna also took strong note to the fact that defence lawyers came late to go to the proceedings and cautioned them it's the last warning and that they might be replaced.

Later, a lawyer for accused Mukesh and Akshay Singh M. L. Sharma again refused to cross- examine the witnesses and said he'd start from Tuesday. 

He also said he's been given time till April 4 to file for an appeal in the Delhi HC from the order by which his application seeking documents in Hindi was rejected.
